MEET RICH  

Rich sees “coaching” as both an art form and a technical skill.  His passion is to make you a better athlete and then apply the athleticism to your sport of choice.

He was a Canadian National Track & Field Team Member for 9 years and ranked in the top 3 Canadian decathletes from 1988-1997. He represented Canada 11 times including 2 Francophone Games, 2 Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games and was the 1988 Canadian Decathlon Champion.

Rich graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Physical Education.  Training for Decathlon brought him to Calgary, Alberta so he could be coached and mentored by Les Gramantik the head of Speed and Power for Athletics Canada. 

Rich has been the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Calgary Flames Hockey Club since 1995.  His contagious love of track and field keeps him giving back to the sport in the role of a coach.  He is a former coach of the Speed-Power athletes for the University of Calgary Dinos who won 3 Canada West Conference titles and the 2007 CIS Women's Championship. He continues coaching all Speed and Power event athletes for the Calgary Spartans Track and Field Club.  Rich has enjoyed contributing as a Consultant for NIKE Conditioning programs since 2005 with the launch of the NIKE websites for hockey training.

He continues to be a passionate public speaker with a results-oriented approach to training to motivate groups and individuals. Rich can be heard regularly on radio programs and seen on Flames TV, Pay Per View, CityTV Breakfast Television and various media promotions.

Rich resides in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with his wife Linda and their children: Asia, Jade and Adrian.
